This latest Skeleton Cable Drum is our factory's latest design. The series of extremely sturdy "skeleton" cable reels are especially suited for life on the road, as well as at home in a TV or movie studio. They are made of heavy duty welded steel tubes coated with monolithic passivated zinc plates. It can also be combined with a trolley and a roll rack for transportation. There are two types of Skeleton Cable Drum: double flange reels and three flange reels. Longer fiber lengths are usually preferred, as this avoids the need to connect shorter components and reduces the number of drums that must be brought to the field. However, it is inconvenient to unfold the entire length to approach the inner (CCU) end when the entire length is not required in one position. For copper cables, it is usually possible to store the shorter length of the inner end of the cable (which usually needs to be connected to a tailgate or wall box) in the hub of the reel, even when the cable is not fully unfolded. In order to avoid damaging the fiber, the minimum bending radius of the fiber hybrid cable must be strictly adhered to, so it is not possible to tightly wrap the inner end of the fiber within a few meters of the main hub.
